COURT: James Draper, 36, from Overton Gardens in Stratton, will be tried at Swindon Crown Court on March 9 for allegedly committing fraud between October 17 and November 17.

During this period, he is alleged to have dishonestly claimed to a customer that their roof needed prolonged repairs and that regular payments were needed to pay for materials and equipment.

This allegedly resulted in Mr Draper receiving £10,000 more than he should have had for the work.

Mr Draper has also been remanded on bail with an electronically-monitored curfew until March 12, where he will make a plea to six charges of breaking trading regulations.

Between June 19 and July 3, he allegedly misled a customer by failing to provide a cost for proposed work, falsely claiming that he needed payment to hire tools and equipment, and failing to give a customer information about their right to cancel a contract.

He also allegedly engaged in aggressive commercial practice during the same period by accompanying a customer to a cashpoint for them to withdraw money, going to the customer's house late at night and calling a customer between 10.30pm and 2.20am and harassing them.
