Have your say on whether the speed limit should be reduced to 20mph for roads in the middle of Marlborough.

A survey being conducted by the town council is gathering views of residents about proposed changes.

The survey was launched after Wiltshire Council used metro counts to measure the speeds of traffic through the town.

If agreed the High Street would become a 20 mile per hour zone as well as London Road, Kennet Place, Oxford Street, Barn Street and Silverless Street.

The report into Marlborough's roads found that these roads met criteria to become 20mph routes after recording average speeds lower than 24mph.

Because George Lane recorded speeds which higher than this threshold, it is not being considered for the lower speed limit.

However when the road is resurfaced in April 'slow' markings will be put on the road warning drivers of nearby St Mary's School.

Residents also have the chance to leave a comment on the proposals.

The survey will be open until 4pm on April 27 and a decision made at a full town council meeting on April 30.
