MELKSHAM Town Reserves turned in a five-star performance in the top-against-bottom battle in the Wiltshire League Premier Division at the weekend.

Lee Fielding, Callum Demkiv, Jake Sainsbury, Tom Jones and Seth Wain were all on target as basement boys Bassett Bulldogs were swept aside 5-0.

Kintbury Rangers had defeated the leaders the previous Thursday and climbed up to second in the table on Saturday with a thumping 6-0 success away at Malmesbury Victoria Development.

Tom Mahoney struck twice and there was a goal each for George Smith, Alex Smith, Shaun Thorp and Dee Rowswell.

Kintbury moved up after capitalising on the 2-1 defeat for previous second-placed side Cricklade Town at Shrewton United, with Rangers now eight points behind Melksham with four games in hand.

Craig Lewis and Josh Sommerton got the goals for Shrewton, with Devan Bryan pulling one back for Cricklade.

Goals from Ferris Lamrabet and Conner McKay meant Westbury United Reserves also claimed a 2-1 win, doing so away at Marlborough Town. Christopher Dean got the hosts’ goal.

Aarron Masson struck twice as Corsham Town Reserves eased to a 4-0 win at home to Pewsey Vale Development, with Josh Bright and Adam Mitchell also on target.

There were also two goals for Gareth Davies in Wroughton’s 4-1 victory away at Bremhill.

Efforts from Aaron Maximen and Tyler Wilkinson helped seal the points, with Freddie Porter grabbing Bremhill’s goal.

Six fixtures are now scheduled to take place on Tuesday night.
