DESPITE its humble beginnings, C4s-Search stood tall after claiming the small business of the year category at the Wiltshire Business Awards on Friday night.

The IT, engineering and digital recruitment business finished top of the rostrum, ahead of CMS Group and Gooding Accounts.

To be included in this category, nominees had to have an annual turnover up to £2m with solid evidence of planned business growth.

Ben Rutter, of C4s-Search, said: "This began when three people took a massive gamble. Two 23-year-olds in a garage have gone onto great things and we are just scratching the surface because we have a brilliant team here at C4s-Search.

"We are a people centred business and that will help us going forward."

Ryan O'Hara added: "We have been going for more than five years and we want to go for many, many more!"

This was C4s-Search’s second award of the night at Longleat and they celebrated with such glee when receiving the gong from sponsor C3 Marketing.

Peter Blake, CMS Group, said: "We are very proud to have received this award. It is very unexpected as we were up against some very strong competition."
