THREE hours of hard graft paid off for Trowbridge councillors and residents after they brightened up a small section of the Lambrok brook on Sunday from a litter pick.
Councillors Tom Bazan and Diana King led some residents to the brook behind the Tesco Express and worked their way up towards the footbridge at the back of Nightingale Road.
“It was a good team effort from all. The place is looking tidier already,” said Cllr Bazan. “I got into the brook with waders and pulled out branches, a roadside cone and a metal slab among other things. I want to thank Tesco Express who kindly provided us with refreshments.”
Cllr Bazan and Matt Callaway, from Wiltshire Wildlife Trust, are about to start a volunteer group to tackle litter and vegetation around the brook. The dates are earkmarked for May 20, July 15, September 16 and November 18 from 10am-2pm. For more information email t_bazan@hotmail.co.uk
