DOCTORS and nurses are toasting 70 years of the NHS by encouraging people to hold a tea party in aid of the Royal United Hospital in Bath.

The Forever Friends Appeal has launched the ‘big 7tea’ party for friends and families to get together and enjoy a cuppa together to mark the birthday of the NHS.

Tim Hobbs, head of fundraising, The Forever Friends Appeal said:

“We’re proud of supporting the RUH and we would like to see as many people as possible involved in the 70th anniversary celebrations, raising funds for the Appeal as a thank you to the NHS.

“Tea brings us all together and is a symbol of community, so why not host a tea party of your own, a street party, in your local village hall or at work and invite your friends, family or colleagues to have a cuppa and mark the occasion.”

The Appeal is currently fundraising £2m for the new Royal National Hospital For Rheumatic Diseases, therapies centre and fundraising for the new cancer centre.
