THE new Starbucks drive-thru coffee shop in Melksham is to open on Tuesday, May 29 at 10am.

It will be officially opened by Cllr Richard Wood, the chairman of Melksham Without Parish Council, who will cut a ribbon.

The mayor of Melksham, Cllr Adrienne Westbrook, and other councillors will also attend the opening.

The civic dignitaries will be treated to a coffee-tasting session for an hour before the opening.

Leon Esfahani, Managing Director of The Magic Bean Company, the franchise holder, said: "We are so excited to bring this brand new Starbucks drive-thru to Melksham.

“We have invested £500,000 into this project, and it has created 20 new jobs for people in the local area, which is fantastic.

“There has been a lot of excitement in the area already, and we're really pleased to finally bring a Starbucks drive-thru to all of the locals who've been waiting on this for years."

The coffee shop will be operated by the Swansea-based company as a franchise operation for the giant American coffee retailer.

The drive-thru is located in Commerce Way just off the A350 and opposite the new Dick Lovett Jaguar and Land Rover dealership.

Following the official opening, the drive-thru will open to the public. Opening hours will be 6am to 10pm, Monday to Sunday.

Drivers will be able to order their triple-shot frappuccinos, americanos or skinny caramel lattés by speaking into a microphone.

The drive-thru will also sell a wide range of breakfast options, including its popular bacon butties and all-day breakfast butties.

Healthy options will include porridge and scrambled eggs and the drive-thru will also cater for vegetarians and vegans, with special lunch and bakery ranges.
