A TEENAGER training at an army base has been disqualified from driving for 20 months after being more than twice the alcohol limit.
James McGeoch, 19, of MoD Lyneham, pleaded guilty to a drink driving charge at Swindon Magistrates Court.
Pauline Lambert, prosecuting, said: "He's seen by an officer around 1.25am and they stopped him in the High Street.
"They went to speak to him and give him a breath test, which reads 84 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath.
"He is of previous good character."
Mark Glendenning, defending, said: "He had been out with friends.
"He realised that his car had been parked in a time-limited parking area and decided to move it to somewhere more suitable.
"While doing this, he was stopped by police.
"He is training to be a technician in the army."
In addition to the disqualification, he has been fined £300 and ordered to pay £85 in costs and £30 to victim services.
