MUSICAL director Carole Berry conducted her final performance by the SuperChoir after four years holding the baton for the coming together of young voices from across Devizes.

The Rotary Club of Devizes joined forces with composer Simon May and Ms Berry back in 2015 to create a SuperChoir and this year's performance at Dauntsey's School had 150 children from six primary schools taking part.

Ms Berry said: "It was a huge pleasure and privilege to direct SuperChoir 2018. Congratulations must go to everyone involved in this incredible production. Massive thanks to all teachers and helpers and especially Devizes Rotary for making it happen, and to our brilliant soloist Jess Foord and accompanist Victoria Warren you are all stars.

"The young singers were absolutely outstanding, especially as some were appearing on a big stage for the very first time. We opened the show with Katy Perry’s ROAR – and this set the tone for the evening as the packed audience roared back in appreciation!

"Soloist Jess Foord is a former member of First Stages and it was wonderful to see and hear her her perform again. She carried the children along with her as they provided an exciting and enthusiastic backing for her performance of This Is Me from The Greatest Showman.

"I have loved working with these amazing people and especially seeing the children grow in confidence at rehearsals - their faces on stage were fantastic to see - and those gorgeous bright fuchsia-pink t-shirts/ I am so very proud of them all.

"Their behaviour on a long hot day was immaculate, their performance onstage to a packed house very professional, and they are a credit to their parents and their schools."

Children from Chirton, St Nicholas, Bromham, Urchfont, Southbroom, Trinity and Wansdyke took part.

Ms Berry said: "I take away many happy memories of a perfect day."
