TWO deeply upset pensioners say it is out of order that they have been banned from a coffee shop in Trowbridge, without being told why.

Mrs Wilkins, who goes with her sister and several friends a few times a week from 9am-midday for food and drink, says she has been going to Milani's for 50 years and has not been told why the two of them cannot return.

The owners of Milani’s refused to tell the Wiltshire Times about the reason either.

“We have done nothing wrong. I have known these owners for 16 years and we have got on well. I wish they would tell us why, it is so unfair,” said the 76-year-old.

“I bought her children Christmas presents, I used to say ‘Hi honey, I am home’ when I came in. We’ve not done anything differently recently to what we did for years, I don’t understand.”

Mrs Wilkins paid her bill to leave on Monday morning, when one the owner’s said that she was banned from coming back.

“I will not let this go. It is not on. My sister in particular is really upset,” she said.

“I think recently the atmosphere has become less friendly. Other people I have spoken to say they have also been on the receiving end of not particularly nice service.”
