THE thrill of powering down an airfield runway in a fire engine with blue lights flashing and sirens blaring returns to Cotswold Airport in September with the 2018 Emergency Services Show.

As well as the popular blue light runs, crash rescue displays and vintage vehicles, visitors will be able to meet retired a retired deputy sheriff and an ex-California Highway Patrol officer who has preserved his old police vehicle as a tribute to the victims of the Twin Towers attack.

The event, which draws police, fire, ambulance and other emergency service exhibitors from around the country, moved to the airport at Kemble last year from Hullavington Airfield where it started 13 years ago. Since then it has raised more than £150,000 for blue light charities.

September 16’s show will feature stunt action from the Rockets children’s motorcycle display team, roads police from Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and Avon, Bloodbike riders from Freewheelers EVSand Somerset and an opportunity to see one of the Hope for Tomorrow mobile cancer care units. The event runs between 10am and 4pm. Tickets costing £6 for adults and £3 for children aged three to 16 are available at emergencyservicesshow.com
