CHILDREN at a primary school in Calne have been learning about site safety thanks to a special visit from GreenSquare staff and mascots Ivor and Honor Goodsite.

As part of the Considerate Constructors scheme, staff from GreenSquare joined the scheme's mascots, Ivor and Honor, to give a presentation to pupils at Priestley Primary School, which is next to the Woodroffe Square development.

Pupils learned about the potential dangers of construction sites and the importance of site safety during a special assembly.

Technical project manager, Tim Bircher, joined Ivor and Honor for the assembly.

He said: "We want to ensure that children and young people understand that they should never see building sites as a place to play. It is essential that they are aware of the potential hazards involved with all types of construction activity.

"The Children and Priestly Primary School really seemed to enjoy the presentation - we're glad that Ivor and Honor Goodsite were on hand to really bring the message to life." With the success of the site safety presentation, the team from GreenSquare Homes, including Ivor and Honor are hoping to deliver these presentations in other schools in areas where GreenSquare has development sites.
