BURGLARS ransacked a house stealing expensive designer watches, cameras and jewellery while the owners were out at lunch.

French doors at the house in Jopp Close were smashed open and the living room, study and bedrooms were searched in the hours between 11.30am and 2.30pm on Sunday.

The haul, worth several thousand pounds, included a Seiko Astron 2014 Limited Edition watch, Tag Heuer Connected as well as a number of Casio watches.

Cameras including a Nikon CoolPix S9500, Sony DSC-HX400V and a Leny700 laptop were also stolen in the raid along with jewellery.

PC Stuart McWilliams said: “This incident has understandably been very upsetting for the homeowners who had gone out for lunch when their address was targeted.

“A number of high value items have been stolen and I am keen to trace these items. I’d like to hear from anyone who thinks they may have been offered these items or has seen them for sale.

He added: “House-to-house enquiries have been carried out and we are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area between these times.”
