A TROWBRIDGE choir’s charity concert ended up raising £663 for two local causes.

The Songbirds choir, alongside guitarist Seth Cox and director soprano Lorraine Mahoney, held the concert at Bradford on Avon’s Holy Trinity Church.

The funds will now be split between the Holy Trinity Church and Wiltshire Alzheimer’s Society.

“There was a very appreciative audience,” said choir member Denise Lea.

“ We have been preparing since April as we used some songs that we sang for the Wiltshire Armed Forces Veterans event in June.

“Lorraine has sung as a soloist in the UK, Europe and Australia. Seth Cox is a talented young guitarist from Warminster., he is already much in demand in the local area. Both were very well received.”

The summer concert means that the Songbirds, who meet every Monday at Wiltshire Rural School, Gloucester Road, have raised over £2,000 since forming in 2016.
