JUST under 1,000 people sat out in the sunshine on Friday evening for a screening of The Greatest Showman took place in Trowbridge Park.

Town Hall Arts’ outdoor screening proved to be a real hit.

With the help of Film Bath and funding from Awards For All, Town Hall Arts’ team of staff and volunteers organised this free community event to bring people of all ages together.

Event manager, Jess Bennett, said: “It was a fantastic evening, everyone had a really good time.

“The weather was perfect and people are already talking about wanting an event next year, so all the planning was well worth it and I have to say a huge thank you to all the volunteers who helped us run the event.”

Director of Town Hall Arts, Tracey Sullivan, said: “These screenings seem to really have caught people’s imaginations as we had all of the 900 tickets we made available go in just seven minutes with a waiting list of over 400 created that day, so we hope to be able to organise more events like this for our community.”

This may happen in 2019 too if funds are found.
