SOME of the youngsters who took part in Bradford on Avon Museum’s 1950s Sweet Trail got their just rewards on Saturday.

Their names were put into a small sack and town mayor Cllr Alex Kay picked out more than a dozen lucky winners.

They included Toby Newton, three, his brother Finley, five, Grace Leigh, 11, and her sisters Chloe, 10, and Ella, nine, and Sammy Bowness, seven.

The children turned up for the prize-giving at Lamb Yard organised by Stephanie Laslett, who also arranged the Spot the Sweets Trail.

More than 60 of the town’s shops and businesses took part by hiding 1950s sweets in their windows throughout the summer holidays.

Stephanie said: “It has gone very well and we’re very pleased.

“The retailers have given out more than 50 forms and many of them have been returned.”

The trail accompanied a Brylcreem and Broken Biscuits exhibition at Bradford on Avon Museum which closed at the weekend.
