DEDICATED and loyal carers were rewarded for their years of service at their company's annual awards ceremony.

Staff from care at home company Bluebird Care Swindon enjoyed a much-deserved pat on the back in front of their colleagues earlier this month.

More than 20 awards for long service or excellence were presented at the event.

Ben Curtis, the company's managing director, hosted a company barbecue after the ceremony to celebrate the work of his exemplary employees.

Six Bluebird Care Swindon carers received two years’ service awards.

A further 10 carers received awards for three years’ service.

Tanya Johnson and Carol Telling were commended for five years’ service.

Special awards were also presented to Christina Guy and Sandy Czauderna for their outstanding contributions to customers and to their colleagues.

Ben Curtis said: “We have a brilliant and cohesive team here at Bluebird Care Swindon.

"In a sector which is known for a very high staff turnover, we are proud that we have a created an environment where our carers want to stay, and where they thrive.

“Christina and Sandy were particularly singled out not just because of the way they support our customers but because of the way they support our head office team and all their colleagues.

"They really go that extra mile.”

Bluebird Care Swindon, based at Groundwell Industrial Estate, was established in 2011.

It provides care to people in the town and surrounding area so they can remain living at home.

Most customers are elderly, but the company also helps adults with physical disabilities and learning difficulties.

Ben Curtis and operations director Katrina Simms are currently recruiting to expand their top-notch team.

They are looking for people who are passionate about caring for others.

No prior experience is necessary, as full training is provided by the company.
