THE cast from The Railway Children will be parading in costume through Warminster on Saturday September 22.
They will be walking from the Athenaeum to the railway station, ahead of the Limelight Productions play in October.
The cast is headed by Brian Long, winner of the Best Actor award in the One-Act Play Festival at the Woolstore Theatre, Codford, last May. Brian plays Mr Perks, the stationmaster, while several members of the cast are new to stage including Bob Lewis who takes the role of Mr Szczepansky, and Judy Beer as mother of the three railway children.
These three parts are taken by Phoebe Walsh, also in her first role, Joseph Medway and Isabel Cunningham.
Joseph has previously acted in Frome but it is Isabel's first main role. Several of the children's parents are also "walking-on" for the first time, or helping back-stage.
Rehearsals are in full swing under the direction of Adrian Cunningham The ambitious set, including a train and a tunnel, is under construction.
The Railway Children, written by E. Nesbit and famously filmed with Jenny Agutter in the leading child role, will be staged at the Athenaeum Centre, Warminster on October 25/26, starting at 7.30pm with two further performances on Saturday October 27 at 2pm and 8pm.
