PLANS for the Greenbridge McDonald's to be renovated have been recommended for approval.
Stratton St Margaret parish councillors discussed the proposal at their last meeting.
The fast food restaurant would have a new shopfront, a first floor for seating, and new drive-thru booths installed, the entrance would be relocated, and the car park would be reconfigured if the plans are approved.
Coun Tim Page said: "Well, it can't be any uglier than it currently is."
Coun Barrie Jennings said: "Could we be opportunistic and ask for a contribution to litter picking since that McDonald's is one of the biggest contributors to the rubbish on the green play area near Greenbridge?"
Coun Stuart Leach said: "We would agree with that and applaud if they did so, but asking for that is not within our remit."
The plans will be given the final thumbs up or down at a Swindon Borough Council Planning Committee meeting.
