HAIRDRESSING students at Wiltshire College Trowbridge have raised almost £300 for a children's charity.
The teenagers held a sale and raffle day at the college to raise funds for the Forever Friends Appeal, which diverts money to the premature baby unit at the Royal United Hospital in Bath.
Lecturer Diane Stevens had a child in the baby unit many years ago and some of the students had siblings who benefited from the care there. In just a few hours they collected nearly £300 and then held a presentation ceremony last Wednesday to hand over the money to the charity.
Student Tiffany Feren, 17, from the Longfield estate, Trowbridge said: "We all had a great time raising the money and it has brought us a lot closer together as a group. Some of my classmates have siblings that have needed this type of care so it makes the whole project more real for us all."
