CHRISTMAS is now truly underway in Westbury and the town is celebrating the festive season in style.

An action-packed programme of events is taking place throughout this month including skating, fairground rides, music and much more.

All the churches in the town have a busy schedule of Christmas services and there is something to suit all ages and interests.

Tomorrow shoppers will be entertained by organ music in the High Street and Bratton Silver Band are playing Christmas carols at Coopers supermarket.

From Thursday to Sunday a Christmas tree festival takes place at All Saints Church.

The festival is being officially opened by the mayor and town crier at 5pm on Thursday, and the opening ceremony also features dancing and music from students at Matravers School.

Saturday December 15 sees the return of the popular skating rink and fairground rides, which will be in the High Street from 10am to 4pm.

More information on all the festive activities on offer can be found in a booklet, put together by Westbury Town Council, which has been distributed to homes and businesses in and around Westbury.
