BAD weather caused the postponement of nearly half of the scheduled matches, but in some of the fifteen fixtures that were completed there were interesting results, writes STEVE ASHLEY.

One of the main surprises came in Division 1, where SKS Blyskawica beat Juventus JM 4-1 to gain their first points of the season, Tom Kopinski (2), Darren Kyle and Fab Stech all hit the mark.

Division 7

Darren Price, Dale Brinkley and Dale Carter netted for last week's leaders AFC Sandgate against Walcots Finest, but it was not enough as they went down 4-3.

Brian Twining, John Shoesmith (2) and Tim Reynolds scored for Walcot.

Regent's 3-0 win at West Swindon Wanderers put them top, helped by strikes from Daniel Harper, Adam Webb and an own goal.

Carters Rest defeated Swindon City 6-2 thanks to Angus Wilson, James Reid, Adam Leighfield, Jason Hodson, Jason Leleivre and an own goal.

Blueprint Chisledon have withdrawn from the league.

Division 2

In the only fixture, GW Nalgo won 5-3 at Windmill. Simon Thompson, Alex Orton and Simon Williams with a hat-trick were all on the mark to ensure Nalgo returned to the top spot. The three Windmill scorers were Chris John, Matt Bennett and Dave Brown.

Division 4

A James Winton lob put Intermach Wheatsheaf 1-0 in front against leaders Rodbourne Arms only for Wayne Savory to equalise. Darren Lucas struck a second half winner for Wheatsheaf, which saw his team replace the Arms on top.

AA Drainaway's first league success in a while came about when they destroyed Sony Owl Madrid 7-0. On the goal trail were Neil Strange, Barry Taylor, Graham Prictor, Ryan Child, Oliver Fallon and Matt Bissett (2).

South Marston had a 3-1 home success against LPA Campbell James with goals from Kevin Mitchell and Phil New with a couple. Mike Scarff netted for Campbell.

Division 5

Eldene Social Club were given a good game by bottom club Pennoes before winning 7-5.

Doubles from Craig Hogg, Marc Connelly and Dave Rendle plus one fron Scott Rendell saw them return to joint top spot with Village Inn. The Pennoes scorers were Carl Harris with a hat-trick, Scott Dewhurst and Simon Webb.

Village will be disappointed after being held 1-1 at home by Fox & Hounds. Mark O'Hagan put them 1-0 in front but the Fox hit back with a late equaliser.

Nationwide hammered Deers Leap 10-1 with doubles from Mike Blackwell, Phil O'Farrell and Alex Woolhouse. Adam Eccleston, Jason Ponting, Mike Hinde and an own goal added to the tally while Phil Mapstone replied for the Leap.

Division 6

Leaders Stratton United won 5-1 at Coleview thanks to a Joe Herbert double, Adam Pfleger, Tom Heinz and Shaun Syers. Martin Lewis netted the Coleview consolation.

Dorcan Old Boys won 9-1 at Lamb Marlborough, with four-timers from Phil Corcoran and Dave Devine plus one from Pete Hanrahan. Craig Scrannage scored for Lamb.

Also winning 9-1 were Pinehurst Community who beat Smart Movers. James McLaughlin and Lee Davis with hat-tricks, Aaron Welland (2) and Jason Tatum scored for Pinehurst, and Paul Sanders replied for the Movers.

Division 8 In the solitary fixture played Halcrow beat Swindon Macs 2-0 with goals from Tim Hughes and Paul Litt.
