ROCK band The Operation are launching their new album just three months after playing a series of gigs in Hollywood.

The three-piece group, made up of Frome-based Nick Wilton and Alex Veale and Greg Freeman from Dilton Marsh, are holding the launch party for their EP The San Giuliano at Frome Town Football Club, starting at 8.30pm next Friday.

They are hoping the EP will prove a hit on both sides of the Atlantic, as during their trip to the USA they even promoted it on a TV station owned by former US vice-president and Nobel Prize winner Al Gore.

Vocalist and guitar player Alex said: "We are really looking forward to the launch because we've been working on it for quite some time, so it's nice to see the final product come together after all the hard work.

"Having it at Frome Football Club is something of a hometown gig for us, and on the previous occasions we've played there it has always worked well."

Copies of the album and t-shirts will be on sale on the night, and the band will also be playing the whole EP and some additional material live. Tickets for the launch cost £5.
