Wolfman filming confirmed

A HOLLYWOOD horror blockbuster starring Sir Anthony Hopkins and set to be filmed in Lacock will go ahead as planned.

Last week, it was revealed director Mark Romanek walked out on the production of The Wolfman but since then Joe Johnstone has been called in as his replacement.

Villagers in Lacock said they'd not been contacted by the film company recently and were wondering whether filming would still take place.

Emma Hands, who runs the village post office said she had not heard anything over the past few weeks.

She said: "The filming has not been confirmed to me but I know the technical team came down a few weeks ago to look around.

"I don't think they would have done that unless people here had been against the filming.

"I expect there to be a meeting in the next few weeks as filming is due to take place in April."

Jean Sheard, from the Lacock Bakery said: "I did hear that there was to be another meeting, but have heard nothing."

Location manager Emma Pill confirmed filming was set to go ahead as scheduled.

She said: "We will absolutely be getting in touch with residents soon.

"Things were held up slightly because we changed directors, but everything is going to go ahead as originally planned."

The film is a remake of the 1941 film The Wolfman and scenes will be filmed in Lacock's Tithe Barn and High Street.

As well as Sir Anthony Hopkins, the film will also star Oscar winner Benicio Del Toro.
