STUDENT Natalie Russell is taking part in a 350-mile cycle ride to raise money to help injured servicemen and women.

Miss Russell, 21, of High Street, Great Cheverell, is appealing for sponsors so she can raise as much as possible for Help for Heroes, a charity which helps military personnel injured in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Miss Russell, a post graduate student at Birmingham University, is one of 300 people doing the Big Battlefield Bike Ride through France.

Miss Russell, whose father is an Army officer, said: "I met troops being treated for their injuries.

"They had suffered horrific injuries such as amputations and burns."
