Liz Ringham set a new Avon Valley Runners club record at Sunday's London Marathon.
Ringham, who recently led the club to second team place in the veterans' race at the Bath Half Marathon was on top form once again. She finished the race in a new club record of 3:03:21, beating the old record by over four minutes.
She was one of seven Avon Valley Runners who headed to the capital for the London Marathon on Sunday along with their families and friends in support.
The conditions were somewhat cooler than in 2007, helping more than 34,000 runners to complete the 26.2 mile course in 2008.
James Hart continued his impressive year and finished his maiden marathon in 3:05:38 as the first AVR man home.
The other AVR finishers were:
- Michael Pace in 3:24:18
- Sue MacGregor in 3:47:21
- Christina Vivian in 3:56:52
- Brian Skivington in 4:24:23
- Alan Grout in 4:30:58.
