VOLUNTEERS gamely braved the rain for the annual sponsored walk at Moors Valley Country Park to raise cash for Canine Partners.

Members of the Rotary Club of Ferndown and supporters hold Bark In The Park every year for the charity, which provides assistance dogs for people who use wheelchairs.

Rotarian Ann Banks said the bad weather meant numbers were down on last year but 18 people had turned out, plus Rotarians.

They were delighted to meet Bernard Wallis and his assistance dog Jinx.

Mrs Banks said several of those braving the elements had brought their dogs along, including a German shepherd puppy aged 18 weeks.

She added: "All the money we have raised is for Canine Partners. All the printing costs were covered."
