Men in court over Swindon cannabis farm

Seven people have appeared before a judge accused of being involved in the cultivation of cannabis.

The four Albanian men and three Vietnamese, two women and a man, were arrested in connection with police investigations into alleged cannabis farms' across Swindon.

They are accused with conspiring to produce cannabis between Sunday January 13 and Saturday February 23.

The seven defendants are Vietnamese Thanh Nguyen, a 24-year-old man, of The Sidings, Handsworth Birmingham, and women Thi Nguyen, 22, of Birmingham, and Dang Loan, 19, of Aytown Road, Lambeth, South London.

The Albanians are Artan Veliu, 31, of Torun Way, Swindon, Mustafa Duka, 25, of no fixed abode, and brothers Aurel Kollabani, 25, and Elis Kollabani, 24, both of Brunel Crescent, Swindon.

The case was adjourned Monday June 23 when the defendants are due to enter their pleas to the allegations.

Both Kollabani brothers and Thi Nguyen were released on conditional bail while the other four were remanded in custody.
