PARENTS who are returning to work can get advice and tips from a range of specialists at the Guildhall in Salisbury on Tuesday(May 20).
The Parents Advice and Information Day is organised by Salisbury Jobcentre Plus and will bring experts from many fields to offer on the spot advice on childcare, benefits and jobs.
Kate Thornton, lone parent adviser at Salisbury Jobcentre Plus, said: "Many parents want to work but are uncertain of where to start.
"They can feel overwhelmed with worries about finding suitable childcare or even ending up worse off. We can do calculations to show parents how much cash they will end up with, including Tax Credits and other benefits.
"Many parents say that when they start work, not only are they better off, they also feel proud to be a great role model for their kids."
Childcare specialists will be on hand to discuss childcare options, including advisers from the county council's early support team for parents of children's with disabilities.
Anyone is welcome to drop in between 10am and 3pm. If you are unable to attend, call the helpline on 01722 315232 or the Textphone service on 0845 603 9076.
