A TROPHY in memory of an 89-year-old woman who died after being hit by a lorry while crossing a road was presented for the first time at an annual show.
The Daisy Bishop Memorial Salver was awarded at the Southwick Show on Bank Holiday Monday to Elsie Jackson, for her embroidery in the craft section.
Mrs Bishop, who knitted thousands of hats for Operation Christmas Child, died seven months ago following the crash in Frome Road.
The trophy was one of many to be awarded at the show, held on the village playing fields and in the village hall.
Flower princess Charlotte Owen and her attendant Morgan Curtis handed out the prizes in the flower show.
Dave Tucker retained the Challenge Shield for amassing the most points, as well as the Ireland Cup for outstanding flower exhibit.
Howie Milburn won the Hobbs Cup for his prize-winning leek.
Sue Rawlings won three trophies, including the Lena Davis Trophy for preserves.
There were also classes for children, while 119 entries were received from pupils at Southwick Primary School for an art competition.
Ben Bryant was the overall winner and received gift vouchers from Southwick Sports and Social Club.
Attractions outside included Angels with Attitude majorettes, Trowbridge Judo Club, a tug-of-war, won by The Rising Sun team, and Starry Eyes singers, as well as skittles and stalls.
