CHILDREN at Pitton Primary School are real students of the world and now their cosmopolitan aptitudes have been recognised with a special award.
The school has been given an International School Award to celebrate the proactive links it has developed with countries as far apart as Germany and Japan and Nepal and Australia.
The award, supported by the Department for Children Schools and Families, recognises work done with partner schools and the widening of children's knowledge of other cultures across the world.
Headteacher David Morgan said: "Through our studies and charity work, the school has given the children opportunities to foster new friendships as well as developing the idea of global responsibility."
The award will be presented to a representative from the school at a ceremony to be held in London on October 8, meanwhile pupils celebrated their achievement by dressing up in some of the traditional costumes of the countries and cultures they have explored.
