The Devizes-based charity Community First has announced that the Duchess of Cornwall has agreed to become its patron.
The Duchess has been an active patron of another Devizes-based organisation, Youth Action Wiltshire, for a number of years and has now agreed to extend her patronage to Community First following the recent merger of the two charities.
A spokesman for the Duchess said: "Her Royal Highness is delighted to accept the invitation to become patron of Community First following its merger with Youth Action Wiltshire.
"HRH looks forward with great interest to seeing how much important work can be achieved in all areas of Wiltshire's widespread communities, and to visiting some of the charity's projects."
Formerly known as the Community Council for Wiltshire, Community First was set up in 1965 to support voluntary activities in rural communities throughout the county.
