Wiltshire College has announced the finalists for its first Adult Learner of the Year Awards.
Timed to coincide with Adult Learners Week, these new awards for Wiltshire’s Adult Learners recognise and celebrate their inspirational success. Award finalists have stories that are outstanding, remarkable and inspirational.
Their story will motivate others to consider learning. They illustrate how learning as an adult can transform lives and achieve beyond their expectations. Often they will have to have made that extra effort to reach their goals. The Awards take place on Wednesday May 20 at the Arc Theatre, Trowbridge and each winner will receive a trophy, certificate and cheque.
There are seven categories in total, each sponsored by a local company: Wiltshire Adult Apprentice of the Year (sponsored by Strawberry Recruitment), Skills for Life Learner of the Year (Apetito), Higher Education Learner of the Year (Castle Combe Circuit), Wiltshire ITLC Learner of the Year (Tribal), Wiltshire Senior Learner of the Year (Wow Creative) and Overcoming Barriers to Learning Award (Wiltshire College) as well as the overall Wiltshire Adult Learner of the Year Award sponsored by Wiltshire Council..
The finalists are: Ruth Healy from Salisbury, Robert Hunt of Chippenham, Benjamin Poole from Melksham, Michelle Higgins of Corsham, Alison Bremner from Trowbridge, Trish Emery of Corsham, Daniel Tanner from Corsham and Jonathan Gale of Potterne.
