Body of woman found on boat
The body of what is believed to be a woman has been found on a burnt-out canal boat on the Kennet and Avon Canal at Honey Street, near Pewsey.
Emergency services were called to the canal at around 5.30am this morning on reports of the narrowboat Cobra being well alight.
It took fire officers some time to dowse the flames and then make the vessel stable enough for police and fire investigators to get aboard.
It was not until lunchtime that police were able to confirm that they were dealing with a fatal incident.
Investigations are continuing.
