Cllr Carter will be able to speak at the Wiltshire Council with the full authority of the 11.9% of the persons eligible to vote in Devizes North who thought his candidature was a good idea.

And your point is
a> voting should be compulsory
b> people who can't be bothered to get up and vote should somehow be represented in their absence or
c> Nigel is somehow the odd one out in the entire country
?
I hope you post similar comments for all the other results

With pleasure I can point out that the successful candidate for Devizes East, Jane Burton, Devizes Guardians Party, has the support of 10% of the electorate for that ward. Cllr Carter's 11.9% support looks quite good by comparison.

You can't blame Nigel Carter for the system. What's he supposed to do - resign? If you want to have a pop at anyone, then it should be the silent 60+%.
