Landlords Pauline and Anthony Hudd are back behind the bar at Hullavington’s Star Inn after a year away.
They were back in charge on Saturday night, 12 months after they sold the lease to save money.
Pub owner Punch offered the couple an improved deal to run the watering hole and Mrs Hudd, 42, of Wingfield, near Trowbridge, said they were more than happy to accept.
“We love the village and people here so we were very sad when we had to leave,” said Mrs Hudd.
“We couldn’t afford to keep it running so had to sell the lease last July.”
Since then the Star Inn was run by interim landlord Cameron Scott.
Mrs Hudd spent the year working in pubs around Trowbridge whilst her husband worked at a finance company repossessing large vehicles.
