A student hairdresser from Wiltshire College Trowbridge has proved she is a cut above the rest after winning two first prizes at a national competition.
Chloe Smith,18, from Trowbridge, is only in her first year of studying for a NVQ in Hairdressing, which makes her achievements in the National Hairdressing Federation’s British Open Hairdressing Championships all the more remarkable.
Trowbridge hairdressing programme leader, Jane White, said “We are extremely proud that Chloe achieved first place in both categories making her a British Hairdressing Champion for 2009.
"Chloe is an extremely talented young lady and we hope she will continue in the competition world next year –watch this space."
Miss Smith entered and won a regional heat in Weston-super-Mare, which qualified her for a place at the national competition held in Coventry last week.
The two categories that Chloe won were Trainee Ladies’ Club Night, which was open to all learners in their first three years of training and the NHF Bridal Champion 2009, open to all hairdressers.
She received two trophies, medals and prize money.
