A motorcyclist and a pregnant woman were taken to hospital after a crash between a car and a motorbike on the B3108 near Bradford on Avon last night.
The 49-year-old motorcyclist was in a critical condition when Great Western Ambulance Service crews arrived at the scene, at the bottom of Winsley Hill. He had suffered a broken arm and leg.
A trauma team at the Royal United Hospital in Bath were put on stand-by to await the injured biker after ambulance staff arrived at 6.30pm.
The pregnant woman, who was a passenger in the car, was also taken to the RUH complaining of stomach pains.
It is not yet known where the injured people are from.
