Sister of paedophile Alan Hunt is glad he is in prison

TRACEY Hull has described the terror of her paedophile brother’s abuse.

Alan Hunt, 48, of Park North, was jailed for 17 years on July 10 for repeatedly indecently assaulting Tracey, his daughter Susan and Rachel Salmon,of Gorse Hill, over a period of 30 years.

All three women have waived their legal right to anonymity in a bid to encourage other victims of sexual predators to seek help.

Tracey, 41, of Park North, was sexually abused by her older brother from the age of four.

Mum-of-four Rachel Salmon was also left emotionally scarred by Hunt who assaulted her after intruding on her home in Gorse Hill 18 years ago.

Tracey is relieved Hunt is off the streets but feels guilty about what her niece Susan went through.

She said: “I am having to live with the guilt that he moved on from abusing me to his own daughter.

“He needed to be stopped.

“My brother died many years ago and all that is left is a monster.

“I could not come forward unless someone else did.

“I wanted to stand in the dock with Susan so she was not left on her own.

“I was the first person he abused – there is seven years age difference between us both.”

The women’s bravery in coming forward in 2007 means that Hunt is unlikely to prey on children again.

Judge Mark Horton imposed a sexual offences prevention order on him, severely limiting his freedom when he is released from jail.

He has also been added to the sexual offences register.

Tracey said: “I refused to let my children near him.

“I had to warn them when they were young.”

“It is just about getting him off the streets and removing him from contact with children and families.

“It is better that he is off the streets than me worrying about the welfare of families over the next 17 years.”
