Tupac rapper coming to Trowbridge

A former ‘gangster rapper’ will be appearing in Trowbridge next month at a talk arranged by Wiltshire Islamic Cultural Centre with the support of Wiltshire Council and Wiltshire Police.

Mutah Beale, formerly known as Napoleon and a member of Tupac Shakur’s group Tha Outlawz, will be at the Civic Hall to talk to young people about his life and give an insight into the world of gangs, drugs and violence, which is so widely promoted in hip-hop, rap music and culture.

Beale was a protege of Tupac Shakur and performed on records that have sold over 40 million copies worldwide and starred in the film Thug Life.

But he has now become a practising Muslim, left the music industry and spends his time traveling the world delivering motivational talks to young people, encouraging them to take positive role models and turn away from the life of gangs, drugs and violence.

He encourages them to have high ambitions and long lasting goals by developing their life skills and educating themselves in order to pursue good careers.

The event is free and open to all members of the public and will also include a question and answer session.

The Truth about Thug Life is on Sunday, August 16 from 6.30-8.30pm at the Civic Hall.
