FULL TIME: CHIPPENHAM TOWN 4, TOOTING & MITCHAM 1

FULL TIME: Full time here and Chippenham have comfortably progressed in the FA Trophy. They were more than good value for the win with a number of players excelling. Remember, in a re-arranged fixture, they will travel to Farnborough next Saturday now.

Also, on a personal note, this is my final game covering Chippenham Town for the G&H and Wiltshire Times. Thanks to everyone who reads and comments on these reports, along with everyone at the club, and good luck for the rest of the season.

88 Mins: Attendance is announced as 429 while Shaun Lamb has been named man of the match by supporters. He certainly has looked like a man with a point to prove after a couple of weeks on the sidelines.

86 Mins: Jon Davies nearly scores directly from an in swinging corner but his set piece is headed off the line at the back post.

81 Mins: Jon Davies comes on for Ashley Williams, who must be a contender for man of the match today.

80 Mins: Dean Hamlin makes way for Adam Fletcher.

77 Mins: Fantastic goal by Shaun Lamb who picks up the ball on the wing, cuts past a series of players infield before burying into the bottom corner with his right foot. It cam less than a minute after he had run through the middle of the pitch, past several players but lashed a shot over the bar.

GOAL, 77 MINS, SHAUN LAMB, CHIPPENHAM TOWN

74 Mins: Snoddy rises well to claim a free kick amongst a sea of bodies. He has been excellent all day. At the other end, Williams wins a ball he has no right to win and gets a shot away which is equally well-held by Bracken.

71 Mins: Cayford screams in pain after going into a challenge with Byatt and receiving an accidental foot in the nether regions. He‘s fine to play on however.

63 Mins: That‘s one back. Byatt picks up the ball at the back post, in a lot of space, and shoot low past Snoddy into the net. It had been preceded by excellent defending from Cayford but he was slightly out of position for that one.

GOAL, 63 MINS, JAMIE BYATT, TOOTING & MITCHAM

60 Mins: Gullick shoots from shade short of 30 yards and it cannons into the crossbar. That was a peach of a strike and would have been a quality goal.

58 Mins: Surely that settles it as Lerwis Powell gets his second goal of the game. Goode, now playing at right back, slips and allows Cornwall to cut back to Powell who calmly places it in the top corner.

GOAL, 58 MINS, LEWIS POWELL, CHIPPENHAM TOWN

55 Mins: A bit of housekeeping, captain Joe Vines was substituted for Craig Pitterson at half-time.

50 Mins: Tooting must have been told in no uncertain terms to up their game as they have attacked since the restart. Gullick does well to head away a cross, bound for the striker, and the corner comes to nothing.

47 Mins: We‘re back and underway here at Hardenhuish Park, where the home side are 45 minutes away from progressing.

HALF TIME: It should be more than two goals in this game and the home side will hope their profligacy in front of the net won‘t come back to haunt them. On this performance you can‘t imagine it will and the visitors don‘t look anything like a team flying high in the Ryman Premier Division. It‘s possible their minds are focused on next week‘s FA Cup first round tie but they have been largely ordinary. The new-look midfield quartet has worked well together and Powell has been an excellent outlet for them up front..

44 Mins: Byatt booked for a crude challenge on Williams as he went to cross. Free kick is hit low across the box and is handled, clearly, on the floor but a second penalty is not given.

41 Mins: Oh dear, Gullick misses a clear-cut chance after a cut-back from Cornwall. The winger initially won a challenge on the left-hand-side, which injured Nelson, but he went on and made the opportunity. Good half from the Bristolian.

38 Mins: Parker is easily dos-possessed by Tindle again on the half-way line. The striker is having a day to forget and surely won‘t see action in the second half playing like this.

36 Mins: Sam Clayton misses a glorious chance to half the deficit. A ball is pumped into the bos which Adams mis-judges and allows through to the forward, who chests it down but then inexplicably shoots wide of the goal from eight yards.

34 Mins: It should be three as Chippenham waste two good chances to add another goal to their tally. Allison firsts heads over six yards from goal, unmarked, and then Lewis Powell hit’s a close-range shot straight at the keeper‘s body.

31 Mins: Nearly a crunching challenge by Tindle who follows it with two commanding headers. The whole-hearted defender appears even more determined than usual today. Lamb shoots wide with his right foot from the edge of the area.

26 Mins: High tackle on Aaron Goode, who has looked their best player, from Williams. The Welshman receives a booking. There has been good action after the penalty with Parker fluffing another one-on-one chance for Tooting before Cornwall nearly set up a third for Chippenham.

23 Mins: Two goals in two minutes for Chippenham. The first was an excellently worked goal with Lewis Powell holding up the ball and bringing Lamb into play, whose pass to Lye was intercepted but allowed Cornwall to set up Powell, whose shot was blocked and fell into Lye’s path. The second was another nice move, largely orchestrated by Williams on the right wing before Allison was tripped in the area. Bracken got a hand to Powell’s penalty but it was too powerful for him.

GOAL, 22 MINS, LEWIS POWELL (PENALTY), CHIPPENHAM TOWN

GOAL, 20 MINS, SCOTT LYE, CHIPPENHAM TOWN

16 Mins: Corner for Tooting but Gullick rises well and heads away. The visitors are very pacey in wide areas and both full-backs will need a lot of support today.

12 Mins: Danger for Chippenham as Williams is dispossessed in the right back position and allows his man to get a cross in, but Hamlin‘s effort is weak and cleared by the defence.

7 Mins: Now it should be 1-0 Tooting but Parker misses a glorious chance. He controversially breaks the offside trap, despite appearing to be at least three yards past the last defender, but weakly pokes at goal under pressure from Shaun Lamb.

5 Mins: First chance of the game goes to Chippenham and how have they not scored? Powell chipped the ball to the back post where Allison had two efforts blocked before Gullick‘s follow-up was also cleared off the line. Great keeping by Bracken.

TEAM NEWS: The main news for Chippenham is that front man Ben Highmore misses out with a groin injury and is not even fit enough to make the bench. Shaun Lamb returns to the side after his suspension. Judging by the line-up, it appears Luke Gullick will remain in his newly-favoured central midfield position while Aaron Cornwall makes his first league start this season. Shaun Benison is also missing with a recurrence of his hamstring injury.

Chippenham Town: Snoddy, Adams, Lamb, Williams, Tindle, Cayford, Lye, Gullick, Powell. Cornwall, Allison.
Subs: Davies, Martin, Gardner, Mason, Hussey.

Ref: Kevin Morris.
