It has been confirmed today that the fourth alworths store will be launched in the former Woolworths premises in Warminster.

The store, in High Street, will open on November 20, creating 24 jobs.

The first alworths store, which has been dubbed the 'son of Woolworths, opens in Didcot, Oxfordshire on Thursday, followed by Amersham and Evesham stores. The chain plans to open 18 further stores within the next 12 months.

Stores will be located in high street premises, predominantly in market towns, and many of the stores will be in ex-Woolworths premises.

Alworths will stock a mix of branded toys, sweets, homeware, stationery, seasonal and garden products. It will also offer pic ‘n’ mix along with party accessories, cards and wrap.

Alworths Ltd has been created by Andy Latham, former head of store and concessions development at Woolworths, along with a team of 15 ex-Woolworths colleagues working alongside him at alworths’ head office in Redhill, Surrey.

Mr Latham said: “We’re really excited to be launching in Warminster, this will be our fourth store and we hope it will be well received by the local community.

"Alworths will be a local department store on the high street with a great range of products at value for money prices.”
