Gypsies living near Hullavington have reapplied for planning permission after their initial application was turned down by Wiltshire Council.
The travellers were told their six caravans and six mobile homes could not stay on the site permanently on June 14 as road access to the site was unsuitable.
A new application has now been made including a highways report by traffic consultant Mark Baker suggesting traffic from the site would not be a problem.
In her application letter Alison Heine, representing the gypsies, said: “In all other respects the development was found to comply with policy.”
She said that permission is being sought on a permanent basis but that the applicants would accept a temporary consent until an alternative site could be provided.
She added: “There is a substantial need for additional gypsy/traveller sites in the Wiltshire area.”
At the time of the original report cabinet member for planning Toby Sturgis added that the site entrance was on a blind bend. But Mr Baker’s report claims that the traffic generated would be so low it would not be prejudicial to highway safety.
Views relating to the application should be submitted to the council by December 3.
