Bradford's Christmas market now in full swing

A Christmas market is in full swing in Bradford on Avon and will run up until Christmas Eve.

The market, set up in Westdale Gardens by Bradford Chamber of Commerce, has stalls run by local traders and businesses, selling clothing, food, jewellery and novelty items.

The Gardens are lit each evening with candles and fairy lights, and by the town’s Christmas lights.

Arlene Caddow, of Bradford Chamber of Commerce, said: “It is a really lovely atmosphere here, it looks beautiful from the road in the evening, it looks like a Christmas market should look.”

Refreshments are available from a stall run by the Fat Fowl Restaurant, serving hot drinks and food, and mulled wine on some evenings.

Shoppers can take part in glassblowing with staff from the Liquid Glass Centre, and children can pay a visit to Santa’s grotto.

Maples has an array of Christmas-themed goods from their shop in The Shambles, and Market Street-based beauty therapy shop, Wild Mary Ellis, is selling locally-made organic beauty products.

Other stalls include Widbrook Grange, with homemade bread and cakes, and the Dawdling Dairy, a house-boat based business coming back on land to sell Snowdonia cheese.

There will be music on Saturday at 1pm from Kevin Poplett and Dave King, of local band Skarper.

Other musical entertainment includes community choir Vox Box on Monday, and sing-a-long carols next Wednesday.
