The Reel Cinema in Chippenham is to stay open during its upcoming re-fit and hopes to minimise disruption to customers by carrying out most of the building work during the day.
The cinema on Marshfield Road is to be transformed into a five- screen multiplex. The work necessary to modernise the venue will take several months to complete.
Manager Jonty Richards said: “We hope not to affect the customer.
“We can’t really afford to close for the re-fit but the disruption is going to be minimal.”
Mr Richards is keen to emphasise the work will happen during the day and would be worth it to watch digital films at the end of the process.
Mr Richards said: “It is a case of doing it around the customer. Work will be during the day and we open at night.”
The cinema is usually only open in the evenings in termtime.
Mr Richards added: “We think it will take about three months, but it won’t be until March.”

I recall, back in the 1950's, there were three - woby the bus station but another one near the railway bridge -anyone know what that one was called??
