A watercolour painting by the Prince of Wales turned up for sale on a stall at the Old Curiosity Market in Devizes.
The painting, given by the Prince to Dudley Paplak, his designer at Highgrove House and measuring just 12 inches by nine inches, was sold for just £60.
It features a Cotswold landscape and was on sale at one of the 25 stalls at the market just before Christmas.
The new owner did not want to be identified but Bill Huntley, who has been organising the markets every Sunday and Monday for the last 15 years, said it was not untypical of the kind of thing to be found at the market.
He said: “Every day the choice changes and is so varied. It is so much fun to look around and you can always find something unique for the home.”
TV antiques expert, Clive Farahar, a regular on BBC’s Antiques Roadshow, often pops in to the market looking for bargains in rugs, furniture and paintings.
Mr Huntley added: “The reason it is so much fun is that there is a good mixture of professional and amateur stallholders. Anyone can book a space and sell things they no longer want.”
