Flowers were laid this week at the spot in Melksham where much-loved father-of-three Adrian Cooksey was found dying a year ago.
Floral tributes were laid by friends and family, including one of his three sons, Adam, at the spot where Mr Cooksey’s body was found in Spa Road in the early hours of March 8 last year.
A note on the flowers from Adam read, ‘A year on and still no answers. I miss you so much’.
Mr Cooksey, a self-employed builder, was found unconscious and with a serious head injury by an off-duty police officer.
He had been on a night out with friends and was walking towards the town centre where he was going to get a taxi back to his home in Clipsham Rise.
The stalwart of Bradford on Avon Cricket Club died later the same day at the Royal United Hospital in Bath after his life support machine was switched off.
Melksham student Tom Minshull was originally charged with his murder, a charge that was later reduced to manslaughter, but was acquitted when a jury found him not guilty following a trial in November.
Following the verdict Wiltshire Police announced that South Wales Police would carry out a review of its investigation into Mr Cooksey’s death.
A Wiltshire Police spokesman said the results of the review are expected within the next week.
