The women’s captain of West Wiltshire Golf Club, in Warminster has raised more than £1,000 for two charities which have helped her family.
Pat Hiscock, of Hilperton, was captain of the Elm Hill club from November 2008 to 2009. She organised fashion shows and raffles, as well as a sponsored slim in which she lost a stone and nine pounds in just three months, to raise money for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance and Wessex Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre.
The 66-year-old, who has been a member of the club for 15 years, said: “Every year the new captain raises funds for the charity of their choice. I’d like to thank everyone for donating.
“My daughter-in-law has MS and my son was once rescued by the air ambulance after a car accident. Luckily he was fine afterwards.
“The air ambulance has also helped a number of members in the past on the golf course, so it holds a special place in my heart.”
Mrs Hiscock was joined by fellow team members to present a £650 cheque to each charity at the Warminster golf club on Friday.
