Police step up search for missing Corsham rugby player

Wiltshire police have stepped up their search for missing fitness instructor Donavan Van Lill from Chippenham who has been missing since March 3.

Mr Van Lill, 29, was last seen at his home address in Pewsham and was due to begin work at the Olympiad at 2:00pm that afternoon.

He had a number of pre booked appointments with clients which he did not turn up for.

Officers have been conducting a large amount of enquiries since the Corsham rugby player was reported missing but have not been able to locate him. A team of detectives have now been tasked with the investigation into Donavan’s disappearance.

The last public sighting of Mr Van Lill was at approximately 9:30pm on March 2 when he was leaving the Olympiad.

Donavan is described as white,stocky build, with short dark hair and has a large oriental dragon tattoo on his abdomen. It is believed that he may be wearing or have in his possession a dark coloured duffle coat and white adidas trainers Detective Inspector Lindsey Winter who is leading the investigation said: "Inquiries have been ongoing since Donavan’s disappearance and we are increasingly concerned for his safety.

"It is very out of character for him to miss work and not to make contact with friends or family and he has not taken his mobile phone, passport or wallet with him.

"Officers will continue enquiries today and we appreciate all the assistance that the public and Donavan’s friends have given us.

"We have established that he hasn’t used his bank account and we don’t believe that he has any clothing or toiletries with him.

"We have released CCTV of Donovan to try and help jog people’s memories and hope to encourage people to contact us.

"I would like to appeal for Donovan to make contact to let us know he is safe or anyone who knows anything that might help us to find him.’ Anyone who has any information should contact DI Winter on 0845 408 7000.
