Man killed on M4 in Wiltshire


A pedestrian died after he was struck by a recovery vehicle on the M4 motorway.

The incident happened just after 5am on Saturday on the westbound carriageway near to junction 15 near Swindon.

The 36-year-old man from Twickenham in south west London received fatal injuries after he was in collision with a Mitsubishi recovery vehicle which was travelling westbound.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed for three hours and police from the serious collision investigation team at Chippenham are continuing their investigations.

Witnesses to the accident are asked to call PC 1484 Robert Eccleston on 0845 408 7000.

Why was this chap walking here at 5 in the morning,another loss of life at such a young age,thoughts are with his family.

should anyone have more details, please answer this comment. He was one of my dearest friends, his girlfriend is my best friend and we all would like to understand what really happened. Its a great loss.
